The CAVS players are the only ones that can play the Spruce CD+G karaoke format that can enjoy a MASSIVE number of songs on each disk. The perform quality is, unfortunately, quite terrible. I have already had to replace the super-pathetic remote TWICE at $34 a pop. The unit cannot output digital audio and analog audio at the same time. The karaoke functions work ONLY in analog mode. So if you want karaoke functions AND digital audio for watching DVDs (which most people WILL want), you have to go through a very cumbersome intention every time you want to switch -- a Broad injure.
I've had my CAVS 203g USB karaoke player over a year now and spend it all the time in my home. The modern version of the free mcgmanager software from CAVS works gorgeous and is not too hard to spend. Process all of your cd+g discs through the software and it stores the songs on your hard drive. I've even combined all of my Shipshape CDG's into the one index using software from [...]. Next, set all those discs in the closet and forget about them! No need to effort about scratching or damaging your expensive karaoke discs anymore. Simply punch up in the numbers of the songs you want to announce using the remote control and they begin playing instantly. You can even queue up 10 songs in arrive. Import the song list file the program creates into excel and create your possess custom song book for free.
